Allergies and Intolerances
Allergies arise when the immune system becomes reactive to certain substances. These substances can be inhaled, contacted by touch or eaten.
Usually the immune system is trying to protect us, but it has become over-reactive and can cause symptoms such acute inflammation in the form of swelling, a red, itchy rash, breathing difficulty and extreme gastric reactions. Allergy reactions usually occur immediately after exposure and can be very severe.
Intolerances are also immune system reactions, but they tend to exhibit a more delayed response. They occur when the immune system is exposed to proteins in certain foods which triggers low grade inflammation.
Many conditions such as Eczema, Asthma and Hayfever can occur as a result of underlying food intolerances. Other symptoms of food intolerances can include fatigue, headaches, chronic upper respiratory tract congestion, brain fog, chronic ear and sinus infections and digestive issues such as bloating and diarrhoea.
Heidi has had years of experience helping to uncover these underlying factors and successfully helped her patients to gain relief from their chronic health conditions such as eczema, asthma and hayfever and sinusitis.
